About
Koen Rousseau
Koen writes RouCou, a blog about technology and transformation — and the practical work of turning change into something that lasts.
Why this blog exists
Technology is the easy part
The tools arrive faster than the organisations that have to use them. AI, cloud, data platforms, new ways of working — each promises transformation, and each runs into the same realities: legacy systems, competing priorities, and people who have seen initiatives come and go.
RouCou is where Koen thinks out loud about that gap: the honest middle ground between the latest technology and the practical work of changing how a business operates.
Some posts are about technology, some are about transformation, and most are about the place where the two meet. If you are navigating that territory too, you are in the right place.
What guides the writing
Four beliefs
Not rules, exactly. More like the questions Koen keeps coming back to when a topic gets complicated.
Clarity over hype
New technology is easy to get excited about. Koen cares about what it actually changes, for whom, and at what cost.
Outcomes over output
Shipping more is not the goal. Moving a meaningful metric — or removing a real constraint — is.
People over platforms
Tools are only as good as the people who adopt them. Transformation succeeds when it is designed with, not for, the organisation.
Durability over novelty
Koen favours changes that keep working after the launch, the budget cycle, and the attention have moved on.
